Becoming a TKE

Men Join Fraternities...

...for friendship. This year, thousands of young college men will join TKE for very diverse reasons. Above all, they know that TKE will give them opportunities they might not have elsewhere -- opportunities to develop socially in an environment where they are welcome and accepted, and where they will have a voice and an active role in their own growth and develpment and the success fo their TKE chapter.

...for experience and individualism. Membership in TKE is an invaluable experience. It opens the door to individual expression of fresh thoughts, ideas, and action. TKE exposes you to diversity and stresses academic achievment, helping you develop necessary skills for the future.

...for mutual understanding. In TKE, you will join with others who have made the same commitment to uphold fraternity principles. In your TKE brothers you will find genuine caring, concern, and support for personal endeavors and for mankind.

...for opportunities. TKE helps you achieve success by promoting scholarship, leadership, and community service. Statistics show fraternity members are more likely to graduate, and comprise some of our most prominent government, civic, business, and industry leaders.

TKE - A Move Toward the Future

TKE Means Scholarship
TKE, like many other fraternities, promotes scholarship and considers it vital to a Teke's development. Thus, as a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, one of your main goals os to get a good education. TKE's scholarship aid program can help by increasing you possibilities even further.
TKE Means Societal Awareness
Tekes are given the opportunity to work in a variety of community and human relations positions. Working side-by-side with your brothers and others from the community exposes you to different vewpoints and perspectives, helping you to shape your own. The skills you bring to the task, and those you learn and take with you, are the kind that broaden the mind to all types of people and situations in our society.
TKE Means Leadership
By serving as a chapter officer, committee member, chairman, or in various other positions, you develop the necessary skills for leadership. These tasks also help build confidence in your own abilities and talents. This "on-the-job" training will serve you well in the years to come.
TKE Means Friendship and Contacts
Your fraternity brothers will become some of the closest, most personal friends you will have in your lifetime. As they move around, Tekes seem to seek each other out -- enabling you to establish new friends in a new location more quickly. And since everyone has connections of some kind, this network of friends can be very helpful personally and professionally.
TKE Means Challenges and Much More
The membership of TKE is very diverse. We consider men "not for wealth, rank, or honor; but for personal worth and character."If this membership is offered to you, accepting the challenges that TKEcan provide can help you achieve everything you are capable of.
Many benefits of joining TKE can't be explained -- they can only be experienced. Certainly, membership in TKE promises a better chance for academic and future success. And we promise opportunities and contacts that can only be yours when you become a Teke.
